The following are examples of text structures that you will be exposed to this year.
1) Chronological Sequence 2) Comparison/Contrast 3) Description 4) Point of View 5) Problem/Solution 6) Process/Cause and Effect
Your future book reports should include the following: 1) Introduction - Name the book, author, genre and a sentence that briefly describes the book. 2) Summary - One paragraph only that includes the main theme and the important details of the story. Please don't retell, in other words, don't give me a play-by-play description. 3) Character description - Take one character only and describe the character in detail. Include personality traits of the character, his or her role in the story, and how you relate to the character. Do you like or dislike him or her? Would you be friends with or find this person interesting? 4) Main event or favorite scene - Choose one of these two moments and describe it in detail and explain why you chose it.
